Frederick

Here’s a little update on the boy! :)

He’s been obsessed with playing Mario on Nintendo DS… He’s asking for it 24/7 and I’ve been trying to break that habbit. We are slowly going down to only 15 minutes a day!

He discovered markers, so now he wouldn’t color with anything else! Half of it ends up on his body because apparently he wants to look like a zebra (his words, not mine!)

He also has an imaginery friend now. It’s a bird and it’s blue. It goes places with him and he sometimes lets me hold it. He puts it for naps in his bed. So far I haven’t seen him talk to the bird, so I am guessing it might just be a pet :)

He started swimming again, after an over a month break. We went to a new place – our neighborhod community center. They have a Jr Instructor program for 11-14 year olds, so they have 2 of those kids for a group of 5 kids. They are pretty good, but Freddy just doesn’t see them as authority, so most of the time he bosses them around and wants to do his own thing… He swims pretty well though! He loves swimming under water, he comes up for a little breath, and then goes on. I think my mom expects him to be a next Michael Phelps (minus the weed smoking of course :) )

Well, that’s about it! I better stop talking about him and go see why he is so mad. His markers were rolling off the table so he ran into the room, and he is sitting there sobbing… *sigh*

He draws...

Oooh forget about it!!!

Lincoln city pictures that is! :) If you want to see them, you are better of going to my Flickr

I got too lazy. And busy too!

Jason and I have been trying to catch up on Lost, so we watched the whole 4 seasons in about 3 weeks, maybe a bit more. Now we are waiting for season 5 to come out, I think in winter.

I also stayed with my friend’s son for several days. They went on vacation and left him with us. He is 15 months, just starting to walk. It was really cute to watch Freddy with him. He would make such a great big brother some day!

Playing with Danil

We’ve also been to Jason’s aunts’ block party. It pretty much turned out into a big playdate, but it was fun! They had a firetruck and a police car come for the kids, of course Freddy loooved it! He even got to turn the lights and the siren on in the police car!

Firetruck

Right now we are getting ready (aka making lists of things to take with us) for a camping trip! We are going to the Toll Bridge campground with the whole family next weekend! We’ll see how Freddy’s first tent sleepover goes!

Just so you know…

… it got up to 102 degrees today, and it was 6 pm! It’s supposed to get hotter tomorrow and the day after.
Times like this really make me want a/c, but I refuse to spend a lot of money on something we’d only use a week (at most) out of the year…
So we just sit next to fans all day, and drink ice water, and take cool showers!
We got Freddy a $4 sprinkler system today! It’s like a “hood cooling off system” since we can only put it in our driveway (we don’t have a yard in our apartments). He loves it though, and he played there for half an hour today! Afterwards we ate half of the watermelon between the two of us :)

Another Road Trip

We went to Lincoln City this time! Be on the look out for pictures and a story SOON! :)

Weird…

My Live Traffic Feed shows my location as Vancouver, WA… I wonder why…

Oaks Amuzement Park

Our summer is suddenly getting busy! Not that it’s bad, I love it that way!
Yesterday we went to the Oaks Park with Jason’s cousins, and one of their kids.
This pretty much will be a photo dump of all that :)

Freddy was so excited, he went on pretty much all the rides he was allowed on, and he even wanted to go on a big loopy rollercoaster. He couldn’t understand why Daddy went 3 times, and he couldn’t :)

Road Trip!

It was great!!! Not only did we get to go to the beach, but we got out of Portland for a day! As much as I love where we live, change of scenery is always great!
Freddy did pretty good on the way to Astoria; he played with his toys, read books…
Reading Cat in the Hat on the way to Astoria

Then he got pretty tired and bored, so he was acting up a bit, trying to hit and pinch Luna (who was in my lap), he was screaming just for fun, trying to bite me, etc… Oh the joys of having a preschooler! :)

Anyways, when we got to Astoria, we walked on Columbia river front. It’s soooo wide where it walls into the ocean! They had all sorts of things there, like a maritime museum that Freddy wanted to go to, and the trolley. Since we had Luna with us, we couldn’t do that, but he had fun running around with her and chasing the ball!
Kinda upset with us for not letting him go on the railroad though :)

We went to Astoria Column afterwards. When Denise was talking to me about climbing something, I said sure, I’d go! I didn’t realize that it was going to be 160+ stairs on spiral stairway, climbing on the top of the column… I am scared of hights. It was more scary because Freddy decided to go with us, so all the way up and down I was worried about him too. He had sooo much fun though, and he was so proud when we got to the top!
YAY! We made it to the top!

Oh, and this is the view down with some zoom. (that’s Terri and Luna by the way!)

And this is Astoria bridge from the Column

We took a small hike after getting down, and Freddy led the way!

We headed to Cannon beach afterwards. That’s when Freddy started getting restless… Terri was in the back with him that time, and when he asked her to help him take his shoes off, she picked up his sock and said that it was stinky. Well, the kid thought it was hilarious, because he started smelling his sock and laughing histericaly :)
Hilarious!!!

We had the best Fish and Chips in Cannon Beach! I am actualy constantly craving them now :)

Freddy looooved the beach! He dug in the sand, ran into the waves and had such a great time! He was pretty sad to leave too…

Sandy toes

I hope we get to go back some day! Soon hopefully!

Polar bears, oh my!

My favorite picture from our Zoo trip :)

Oh! Oh!

Another update I forgot to post is that I decided to go back to school!!!
I finished 3 years of university back in Russia, and was planning on going back there to do another 2, but thought it would be a lot easier to just do something here.
So my application is currently at PSU! They are waiting on my records to get to them, which is supposed to be this week. They also have my financial aid application.
I am so excited, I really hope I can start fall term!

I know, I know…

I’ve been MIA forever… Well, a little over a month, but still… Here’s an update though:

Freddy is pottytrained, he hasn’t had accidents in a while, and right now we are working on sleep pottytraining. Not in a hurry though! :)
He’s been doing soooo many new things, and he’s just so much fun lately! I love his age so much!

Jason’s been laid off in the beginning of July, and he just found a new job. It’s part time, but it’s something to start!

He’s been home for over a month, so I guess that might be part of the reason for me not getting on my blog. We’ve been hanging out watching movies, taking Freddy to the park and Zoo, etc… Freddy’s gotten too spoiled by having daddy home all the time! :)

Oh, Fred can pretty much swim now!!! He sometimes forgets he needs to hold his head up, but all the movements are there! His spring session at Dolfun ended a week ago, and we are planning on getting him into classes at our local community pool. It’s a lot cheaper, and from what I heard, it’s pretty good! So we’ll see! But he really enjoys the water, so we need to keep it up! My mom sees him as the future Michael Phelps :)

We had a great 4th of July this year! Freddy and I actualy spent Friday – Sunday at Jason’s mom’s.
She got Freddy a pool so he’s been playing in it a lot. We’ve done a bunch of garage saling.
Saturday was Jason’s first day of work, and since we had nobody to go downtown with, we watched fireworks from his mom’s porch. Freddy really loved the sparklers!!!
Sunday we had a big BBQ with the family. Jason cooked and it was super yummy!!!

And yesterday we spent over 4 hours at the Zoo with Teri and Denise. Freddy had so much fun hanging out with them, he didn’t want them to leave in the end :)
